Education built around values

From 5 to 11 years of age

At the age of 6, a new stage begins. Classes are organized around clearly defined academic areas: mathematics, science, social studies and English are taught in English (about 50% of the curriculum). In this way, reading and writing in Spanish and English go hand in hand.
From 7 years, students are prepared for the Cambridge English Language Assessment exam Starters.

One of the distinguishing features of the Colegio International of Valladolid is the individualized attention through which the tutors carry out intensive efforts to reinforce areas where students need extra help. In this way the School can integrate students from other centres with less knowledge of English or any other subject, and successfully integrate them in the educational structure. Tutors acquire a deep understanding of the needs of their students and maintain a high level of communication with parents throughout the school year.

In this important stage, coexistence, mutual respect and good behaviour are emphasized. True education does not consist only in the accumulation of knowledge but in a vision of life based on affection, respect and understanding. Order and discipline in an environment of affection promote personal growth and academic progress. Our teachers seek to instill these fundamental values at all times.
Finally, all students in years 3 to 6 have the opportunity each year to participate in a residential trip to enjoy nature, staying in a hostel in Castilla y León, in addition to other cultural visits throughout the year.
